Grading
The grading scale at Shoesmith School is as follows:
100 - 90% : A
89 - 80% : B
79 - 70% : C
69 - 60% : D
59 - 0% : F
Late Homework Policy
Homework may be turned in late for a reduced grade. Unless, of course, in the case of absence. If a scholar is absent he/she will have as many number of days he/she was absent to complete the missing work for full credit. For example, if a scholar were absent for two days, he or she would have two additional days to complete the homework. Scholars should label homework turned in late because of an absence with "ABSENT" in large, capital letters at the top of the assignment, as this work will be turned into the late work basket.
Corrections and Make Ups
Tests and homework may be corrected for additional credit. Corrections to any classwork will NOT be accepted. All test corrections must be done on a separate sheet of paper with the title of the test at the top of the page. Only items marked incorrect should be redone. If a math test is being corrected, all work must be shown in order to receive credit. The original assignment should be attached behind the test corrections. Half credit will be given for each corrected item and added to the final score. The assignment may only be corrected ONCE. Tests may also be retaken at a scheduled time before or after school. In the case of a retake, the higher of the two grades will be given. It is the student's responsibility to schedule a retake with Ms. Lane.

- Study at home for tests.
- Come to school on time and prepared to learn.
- Put forth 100% effort in all assignments and activities.
